Human proof listening

A careful listen. A stronger audiobook.

Human quality control against your manuscript, before release.

01

Follow the manuscript

Check for omissions, repetitions, misreads and pronunciation issues.

02

Flag audio problems

Identify rough edits, unwanted noises and listening distractions.

03

Make corrections clear

Provide chapter and timestamp notes for the production team.

What should you send?

Chapter audio, the exact manuscript used for recording, total finished length and any pronunciation notes. Please include approved differences between the print and audio editions.

A few useful answers.

Is proof listening the same as editing?

Proof listening identifies issues. Recording pickups, integrating corrections and mastering are separate steps, unless included in the agreed scope.

Can you review audio made elsewhere?

Yes. We can quote for a human review of an existing audiobook project.

What does an issue note include?

A chapter, timestamp, text reference and description of the issue, so the narrator or editor can locate and correct it.
